Fast Food

Fast Food

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

inspired by a poem by Yira Simone

"

In a world of modern conviences

It seems love has become that too,

So many treating it like fast food.

Someone comes along

And devours your heart

Like a juicy burger

And naws on your soul

Like some salty French fries.

Then throws you aside

Like the wrapper they came in.

Somehow you end up being the one

Who feels weighed down

By all the fat and grease

From their eat and run attitude

And your health suffers

Feeling one step closer to

A heart attack.

The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
Ok this came about when i was reviewing Yira Simones poem last night which you should also check it out

Exit Wounds

I mentioned in the review how some people treat love like fast food... i thought that was an interesting topic but didn't really start writing it until Yira commented saying I should write a poem on the topic, enen threatened me with physical violence by twisting my arm and since i didn't want my arm broken I decided to write it and this was the result.

This is humorous but also sad, when you really get to thinking about it, because I have so often thought along this same track, of how our world is becoming a disposable world. Nothing is made to keep anymore. If the tv breaks, time was you took it in for repairs, now you just toss it and buy another. There aren't even any tv repairmen or fix it shops left that I know of. Everything and I mean everything is becoming disposable and artificial. even body parts. They are growing them. I saw a mouse on tv running around his cage with a human ear growing on his back.
This is really a great poem Dale. Fabulous.
Love it , it's going to my favs.

Love it, it clearly speaks about those fly by night affairs that end up going no where, you got one person taking the relationship for what it is and the next wanting and expecting more and end up being hurt, just like a take out burger, discard wrapper after done.

Great work Dal.
