Genesis(Remastered)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I believe in God not organized religion

"

Genesis…

       Once in a lifetime event

       Witness by just one…

              The creator of all,

The one of actions not words.

Showing us the way with miracles

Then gracing us with the gift of freewill.

Generation to generation

       The almighty word is taught.

Unfortunately… tainted my mortal breath

       That hides the selfish needs

       And personal agendas.

Trying to build their faith

On a foundation of fear

So the flock dare not step

Into the imperfect soil,

Scared it might be quicksand.

I will never be confined

       By suffocating pews

Or bow down

       To a man made cruxifix.

I can find the road to heaven

Paved in the veins of my heart

As I march to the hymn of it beating.

Wow! You're pretty cool!
Genesis says: In the beginning was the Word. KJV
In the Phoenician that was original, or ancient Hebrew if you like, it said:
In the beginning was the Thought.
All of our reality comes back to the thoughts of #1.
Which is my point.
Great Poem.

This is such a celebration of life and light! We often put such confinements on God's creation and our lives. Here you look beyond the religious restrictions and into the heart of the Creator. Thank you for sharing a work so inspiring.

Impressive write, very impressive. Organized Religion is just another form of control, a few having power over the many.

Although I am a member of my little village church and would die first rather than have it knocked down, I agree with you wholheartedly on this subject Dale.
I can wear my jeans n baggy jumper and enjoy a sermon whilst I supervise young children at my feet and that's how I believe it should be. But if I don't go to church on a Sunday, I don't feel guilty, cos I haven't changed one tiny bit...I am still the same me whether I'm sitting in the pew, the park or even the pub.

Great..no fabulous write here D. I just knew you were in a religious mood t'day.
Amen to that.

Thanks
Babs xx

This is a great way to explain the love you have for God but not the hypocrisy that man creates. I have a church that I love very much but that is because you don't have to dress in your sunday best and pretend to be someone your aren't to go there. My church family loves me for all my faults. This is a great poem and if I didn't have my church the way it is then I would have to completely agree with you. I love the flow and the topic.

Wonderfully said! There is so much truth in this, and i agree whole heartedly. Religion is so twisted its gotten close to insanity! So many blindly follow a way because they are conditioned to it from childhood.

This is bold and very poignant. The creator is a being of actions, not words. I like that line a lot! Nice subject.
