Forever Clause

Forever Clause

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Just a poetry rant about those who want to change the image of Santa Clause and all the political correctness surrounding the holiday... Give me traditional.

"

Jolly Old St. Nick

Is a state of mind

To all the innocent minds

And those still young at heart.

Ho Ho Ho is the anthem of Joy

To every boy and girl

And that bowl full of jelly

Is very symbolic of

The big hearts that give

To those in need.

So what is this talk

Of an image change

And making Mr. Clause

More physically fit.

The only thing that should be trim

This holiday season is the tree.

So let tradition,

That was good enough

For generations

To stand,

So let me say Happy Holidays

I mean Merry Christmas

Cause I don’t go for

That political correctness.

Fantastic piece; Dale, this says it all so perfectly....and I so agree let Santa keep his hefty form and bah humbug to political correctness.... Merry Christmas is still good enough for me and I'll keep on saying it....Great Job on this OnE!

I agree with everything you say here. What is wrong with traditional? PC is just plain stupid and people are getting tired of it. When you come to America you need to fit into this culture, not expect the country to change to fit your culture and we don't need the government telling us how to live, what is correct and what isn't in our personal lives. BIG BROTHER IS ALIVE AND WELL and trying to expand as of right now!!!

I agree wholeheartedly. Santa Clause is a symbol that was supposed to inspire people to want to be better...at least for the holiday season. It didn't matter if you believed in him or not. The idea of a selfless jolly old man was like a grandpa figure for the kids. There is no need to change something that works and in today's very commercial holiday season that symbol might be the only thing keeping us from becoming ...I don't know the word for it....Hypocrites?

Political correctness is B.S. Where I work. Can't greet with Merry Christmas. Can't smoke, can't use bad language. No jokes about the opposite sex. Not allow to give a hug. What next. We can't complain about the government? I don't know anymore. Many of the great President warn of these days. Big brother may be here. Anyway a very good poem and a Merry Christmas.

Haven't it been those days that created and still create the fondest of memories for many generations? Aren't we not unhappy enough nowadays with all the modern stuff and ways of thinking?
So yes, I am also very much politically incorrect then.
