Michael Jackson (a tribute)

Michael Jackson (a tribute)

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

M ichael

I  never followed your career.

C an't say I was a true fan but I listened to your music now and then.

H ow do I write a fitting tribute to the king of pop?

A  sad day it was when you died so suddenly, so tragically.

E verywhere around the world, people mourned for you.

L it candles in memory of an icon.

J ust a little kid when you started out.

A beautiful voice you gave to the world.

C horeography that only you could teach.

K eep singing and dancing Michael, on your journey to the stars.

S oft spoken gentle creature that you were.

O h, what a friend we had in you.

N ow may we let you rest in peace.

Dear debileah,

Michael Jackson was a super-talent, but a deeply troubled individual. I fear he didn't have the strength of character to weather his fame and the unlimited possibilities that this brought. It was rather a tragic life. I'm sure he knew happiness through some of this life and successes, but for the most part I think he was a deeply sad individual.

I did not follow the funeral at all. I was not surprised to have heard of his death. Such a tragic end, however, at such a relatively young age.

The end of an era and dynasty.

Best regards,

Rick

I saw the title of your piece and decided to review because I have always enjoyed Michael Jackson. Although you never followed his career, I found it touching to post such a thoughtful tribute.

I did follow Michael from the time he was a child performing 'ABC,' to his later years which encompassed 'Thriller'...'Remember the Time'...etc. It is doubtful that there will ever be another like him, for he was a total package of sensory elements... Many musicians offer vocal and lyrics, but his visuals and dance ability were simply awesome. I just loved his sex appeal, too.

I think Brooke Shields said it best at his memorial in which she seemed to capture his basic personality traits....playful...gentle...honest. He might not have been totally upfront about his plastic surgeries, but then truly.....they were his business.... We all have things that we don't wish to share with the entire World, yes?

And his daughter's reaction at the memorial for me was proof positive that he was a kind and loving father.

I DO NOT believe that he ever molested boys. Period. No parents in their right mind would permit their sons to attend a sleepover if they had any shred of concern about their child's safety. I wanted to comment upon this because I have read so much bullshit over the passed few weeks and am quite sick of twisted gossip.

Your poem is kind and gentle.......

Indeed we lost a very special human being. I mean, think about it, Deb.... Who other than Michael Jackson could ever be called 'The King of Pop'.......

Great job. yeah, i wrote a mj tribute as well, except he impacted my life a lot. i grew up listening to his music. all his songs remind me of times in my life (such as madonna and janet jackson's songs aws well). but mj is special, one of a kind. The King of Pop. no one else reigns as supreme!!

A wonderful tribute to one of the greatest entertainers this world will ever know. It's sad that the last several years of his life were the way they were. His music still speaks volumes though and I'm sure that 20 years from now the same will be said.

K eep singing and dancing Michael, on your journey to the stars.

this is a beautiful line. I too wouldn't have called my self an adoring fan who followed his career intensly. i never even had much thought about any of the controversy surrounding him. I did enjoy his music however. It's a funny thing how I never gave much thought to it until he passed then i felt a deep sadness as i realized i missed such a huge opportunity, the kind that only comes once in a lifetime, to see someone with such talent perform live. I regret now having never gone to a concert. Thanks for the heartfelt expression

A controversial figure yes, and maybe his lifestyle would be frowned upon
by many, but his talent knew no bounds. How our hearts go out
when someone so gifted, loved and adored is cut off far too early
in their life. This seems to happen time and time again. Comes with
the territory of "stardom" sadly.

Who could not help to be moved to tears when his loved daughter said those
poignant farewell words to her Dad.

This was a superb, compassionate and gentle tribute to an awesome
entertainer whose memory will never fade.

R.I.P. Michael

Thanks Deb

This wonderful talent so misunderstood by so many and captured by someone who was not a fan! Fitting tribute. Farewell Michael. May you find peace at last
