Phoenix

Phoenix

A Poem by dadist poetic

Those curses they cast upon me

Pulling the roots

of my growing trees from their ground

Killing leaves

which still need their color to be found

Forcing birds

to abandon my sky which once had no bound

Breaking monuments

whch were once standing tall and proud

Burning my sacred temples

to ashes while they're asleep and sound

And as curses meant to be broken

My ruins will be rising

a Phoenix roaming the earth that's so round

I like this a lot. It's simple and complex at the same time. I've always phoenixes, and I think you've really captured their essence here. Lovely piece.
