Oklahoma

Oklahoma

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

For the people of Moore Oklahoma.

"

My heart was broken in Oklahoma
Jewel of the Midwest
A twisted hand screamed from the sky
and ripped it from my chest

My broken body was smashed to pieces
Thrown down on the street
I was nothing but a ripped up rag doll
Cowering at her feet

My blood my bones my life's existence
The muscle under my skin
Wrapped around her indifferent fingers
trapped in her deadly spin

She doesn't know and she doesn't care
The Wind Zephyr of death
She screamed across our great heartland
She was on my last breath

There's nothing left she took it all
With her blinding fury
Disappeared into her vile black sky
Leaving dead to bury

Touching,
I don't review on these pieces involving current events especially tragedies, I only give my support and love for the piece. I say this is a great read and very powerful in it's telling of the pain and suffering of this horrific event.
Sincerely
Christopher

Ah my boy PhilGod. It's so good to have you back.
I have some friends in that area, so i'm especially concerned about this, but even if i didn't, i'd feel the same way. it was an awful tragedy. i watched an interview on the news about a teacher who used her body to protect the kids around her. she's in the hospital now, horribly broken, and found that seven of her students died anyway. crushing. hope is with them; they have to rebuild and recover. impressive write BR

You're very welcome. Likewise, bro :)
Holy Cow. I grew up in Kansas and Arkansas. I remember seeing these things form - the smell, the color of the sky - I was never "in" one but I was close enough that the things are burned into my psyche. They terrify me. Once you've been exposed to tornadic storms - you know...you can look at the sky and you know...my heart goes out to that area of the country. A fitting poem, Sir.

I'm lucky never to have kown a tornado. In texas we have hurricanes, and I was once on the fringes of one. That's all weather has done to me.

"A twisted hand screamed from the sky and ripped it from my chest " amazing BR, amazing.

second Oklahoma piece i've read today and I enjoyed and loved both..

Tragedy strikes and leaves us wondering why and what now..
the truth is there is no real answers to those questions
I liked this a lot you give emotion to this destructive reality.

Nice job of 'poetic journalism' here. I especially like the ending the last 2 lines are excellent. I wrote a poem about these events earlier as well, apparently disaster is more inspiring than I thought. Let's hope they receive some good help from everyone to try and get passed the tragedy.
