The Buddha's Smile

The Buddha's Smile

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Something I need to look into

"
When the Buddha smiles
Claws on my soul slip away
But I don't know why

I seriously need to look into this Buddhist thing. I saw that movie "Little Buddha" about the little blonde kid in Seattle the Tibetan monks thought were the reincarnation of their Dali Lama. It wasn't the reincarnation, mythological story of Siddhartha that got to me, it was the monks acceptance of everything and the incredible peace they emanated. Same deal with the Dali Lama. I don't think I've ever seen a more happy go lucky public figure with that amount of child like charm in my life and man has he gotten his fair share of stress. Sometimes I think we're the ones that are bat shit crazy and they're the one's who've got it all figured out. Just a hunch I guess. Peace boys and girls

Don't push it away.
Too often we do.
Follow your gut instinct and look into it.
I'd be intrigued to know more also.
Keep us posted.

Wonderful, concise piece...a calling, perhaps? :) Some soul searching to step into, me thinks and a well worthy one, indeed xo

In my youth circa 14 years old I dabbled in LSD and solvents and this little guy would appear to me time and again in my 'illusions' - I could never work out if he wanted to do me harm or help me.
Keep me posted BR.

Will do. Thanks Anto
I agree. Some cultures have different view on life. I believe the madness of the USA where we work and work till death. Could be the wrong ways. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry and photo.

You are welcome.
Certainly intriguing thoughts regarding a religion that centers around spiritual enlightenment, hope you're able to find that which allows your soul to rest.

What a wonderful, simple tribute to a wonderful, simple figure. There really is something in that smile... My Irish-Catholic grandmother had a smiling Buddha statue that she kept by her front door, because he looked so "fat and happy", she wanted that to be the image she took with her when she left the house. I now have that statue - by my own front door... You may indeed be on to something, Mark.

I stayed in Vermont onastery for a weekend a few years ago and I am an avid reader of the Bhuddist literature speially Zen. I know I couldn't be related to it or commited for lack of a better word but I have the deepest of respects.

Very nice idea here

Thankyou

Julie is right. That is a pretty good line.

You ever think you could, though? I mean, accept everything? Maybe the downside to that is you have to be a monk.

Maybe being a monk isn't such a bad gig. Peace
