Lost

Lost

A Poem by Denise
"

emotional trust to lean on someone else when you have lost trust in yourself

"

Mind draws a blank shell

Forever captured in this moment
Following words painted pastel
Categorizing every component.

Trusting to follow your whim
Mistrusting my decisions
Not sure where to start, where to begin
Tearing apart the heart’s wounded incisions.

Reality floating on dreams
Suffocating, regulating, devastating it seems
Please save me, praise me, never betray me
Protect me, correct me, never neglect me
This is my mantra,
This is my plea.

Beautiful - a cry for help from yourself - don't we all long for that sometimes. Brilliant poem!

I really enjoy this poem if I may say so myself.

Trusting to follow your whim, Mistrusting my decisions: It is like trusting your gut over your mind and logic. Those two rarely agree on any decision. I liked your word play in this poem and it had that light touch of darkness too it.

I like the frenetic pace this piece. It puts its trust in words to mirror the trust placed in the person being addressed by the poem. Some great assonance and parallelism too.
