I Never Expected

I Never Expected

A Story by Duane Klinger
"

Freewrite inspired by my lovely boyfriend

"

I never expected things to be this way.

I never expected to get lost in your eyes the way I do. I never expected that I would feel safe in your arms, or that when you kiss me it takes my breath away. I never expected that I would want so badly to come back to you. I never expected that you'd be in my dreams, or that you'd make every waking moment better than the last. I never expected that you'd give me butterflies when I saw you. I never expected that you'd become my everything or that you'd make my shattered heart whole.

I always suspected that I loved you.

I like the repetition of "I never expected..."
And this line "I always suspected that I loved you" is so simple yet profound. Through this line I see potential.

This is a beautiful, honest work of love. In such a simple way, you said something profound concerning the only thing that really matters and really inspires enlightenment in this life, that thing we call love.

it is a little cliched, but I love the feeling that's behind it

Reminds me clearly of the first kiss I had with a person I loved dearly, it tells of that very fine line between love and hate because we have all learned the lesson that we can only truly hate the ones we once loved, well done, great read.

Such beautiful words MKline. I do believe your words could melt any womans heart. Such a great discription (imagery) of ones true emotions (emotive)
