Only A Dream

Only A Dream

A Poem by Tabitha Deasún
"

Ah, dreams. How they can draw you in until you can't escape. Make you think something is real when it is not... and then to combine that with a broken heart. A painful, sad experience.

"
My hand in yours,

fingers intertwined

My heart pounding,

as lips embrace

Butterflies taking flight,

inside my stomach

Trembling besets my body,

as you hold me tighter

You whisper that you love me,

always will be mine

A thud against my window,

jerks me awake

Harsh reality sets in as I realize,

It was only a dream...
