These reviews are Rated: EVERYONE

As this series is finishing up, there will be 9-reviews instead of 10.

(82-minutes)
Animated, CGI, Christmas

(2007) Elf Bowling (PG)

[1] Well with such unforgettable golden musical award-winning hits like, "Slavery Makes The World Go Round," it can be seen why most people have rated low on this video. However, there is no reason to be so critical.

The computer animation is cutting edge and gorgeous, half of the music sang and played are fun and inviting. Certainly no real plot to follow, but good fun nonetheless with generous use of sparkles and scenes in the snow.

(92-minutes)
Japan, Animated, CartoonNetwork

(2004) Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (NR)

[2] Very bright, very colorful, and very loud is a good way to describe this Cartoon Network series. If cartoons ran on sugar, this would be it !

While the animation may not appear as such, they are both girls, one sunny and funny, the other stern and serious. Their base naivety about life is the show's main plus, and they do get themselves in some pretty wacky adventures.

There is a great connectivity between the two, and Ami more than once needs the help of Yumi to make it through the day, being more naive than Yumi.

Fun to watch, and the stories do seem to teach a bit about priorities by placing others before yourself.

(unlisted running time, 3 DISCS)
Animated, Adventure, Nintendo

(1989) Legend Of Zelda (NR)

[3] This is from a television series called the Super Mario Bros Show back in 1989 WELL before Link had adventures on consoles outside the Nintendo Entertainment System.

It is perhaps the most accurate portrayal of the original NES game, incuding the Super Nintendo which followed later.

(75-minutes)
Animated, Children, Adventure

(2000) Baby Felix & Friends (G)

[4] Curious ? Baby Felix relies on his future self, literally, by time-traveling and borrowing Felix's Magic Bag Of Tricks to help him and his friends out of trouble.

The stories are not entirely predictable and the persona of his friends come in likeable demeanors.

The animation style is slick and modern, and we are visited by Felix's old comrades The Professor, Master Cylinder, and new Baby Bulldogs Trio.

Felix has a G/F in here Baby Kitty, and Mimi, a close friend, is the epitome Tomboy. You get nearly 2-hours, not 90min as is listed, and each episode is accompanied by a musical number that reflects on the episode you just watched and the episodes to follow.

It's certainly better than the "Twisted Tales Of Felix The Cat" which might scare smaller kids. This particular selection is definitely for the younger ones and the young at heart !

(50-minutes)
Cartoon, Tom&Jerry, Snow

(2003) Tom & Jerry: Paws For A Holiday (G)

[5] Very disappointing. This is a collection of not-too-old Tom & Jerry cartoons which are loosely based around snow and ice. If you were looking for Classic Tom & Jerry for the holidays, with Christmas, Presents, Santa, and maybe even a North Star, you will just have to keep looking.

NONE of that is here. What a waste.

(60-minutes)
Anime, Combat, Videogame

(1996) Battle Arena Toshinden (PG)

[6] And ... then it's over.

I really was hoping for more. Battle Arena Toshinden was a breakthrough fighting game for the Sony Playstation and this movie (series ?) had every opportunity to define and flesh out the characters, which everyone wants to see.

Unfortunately, they didn't ... Instead it was some weak storyline which involved killing off 3 of the main characters in a senseless battle. Already shows you there isn't going to be a sequel. Very disappointing. No rewatch value.

While there is no equivalent, suggest you watch Mortal Kombat the movie, or Street Fighter the movie. I think they are a better render of a videogame-to-movie.

(86-minutes)
Sexy, Action, Adventure

(2006) DOA: Dead Or Alive (PG-13)

[7] What a rush !

Picture the best fighters in the world, mostly attractive young girls scantily clad, taking on hundreds of opponents, including each other, in the ultimate battle.

Backdrop to high-tech, high-fashion, and the high-class. Setting a new standard for one of the best girl-fighting films today. Definite re-watch value. This film, promises the goods, delivers them, and even unwraps them for you.

Enjoi !

(33-minutes)
Animated, Thoughtful, Purpose

(2004) Doggy Poo (NR)

[8] It's difficult to rationalize rating a movie 4-stars about Poo, however, the visuals, piano music, and deep emotions about one's meaning in life were right on the mark.

Everything and everyone has a purpose in this world. Animation is combination claymation and computer animation. Stunning visuals of country farms and skylines.

(93-minutes)
Adventure, Kids, Fantasy

(1997) Redboy 13 (PG)

[9] Bad doesn't begin to describe the quality of this video.

Purely amateur. It does pull off, however, some incredible and difficult scenes with decent novice computer-graphics. Some of the actors are off-the-wall but terribly predictable behavior. This video has no re-watch value, and once you've seen it, you're glad it's over.

Does the boy get the girl ? Rather the reverse.

Next time I will do 9-more movie reviews and that will conclude this series.
