Release of the Tempest

Release of the Tempest

A Poem by Echoes of Eros
"

Prospero’s tempest unleashed

"

Prospero’s tempest unleashed

On a metamorphoses of seascapes

Fleshly forms bending

Billowing surf alive

On rhythm’s passive dance

Surging, sweeping, swelling

In Miranda’s wake

As seabird screams

Echo over the wilding rush

Breakers crashing in thunders

While twisting seafoam flows

From sweet undulations

In a cresting convolution of moans

Swelling, rippling, flooding

Whitecap sheets of night

Tempest now sweet release.

Author's Note

Echoes of Eros
Inspired by the fire of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” from 1610. That was a very good year.

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.”
― William Shakespeare

exactly as i wish for your inspiration to be as wondrous as your words
Shakespeare may have been your muse, but this became wholly different. As eloquent as Shakespeare sounds to our ears now, at the time when he was writing, it was for the masses and not the nobility (where most art focused)
This, conversely, takes the mundane flesh and immortalizes it.
Excellent.

You do Shakespeare justice here. I personally love taking one of his lines and writing around it. Having said that I don't find his work an easy Sunday afternoon read, I think that is why I tinker with one sentence. This piece you have created is a sultry romp in the ocean...how delicious!
