God Was Always There

Faith is intrinsic but we often ignore it.

I didn’t find God in my suffering; he was there all the time.

I never gave him thought; I never let him in my heart or mind.

I chose to revel in my demons; however, I knew I wasn’t alone.

Whenever demons knocked me down, I landed in front of God’s throne.

Folks joke that I found Jesus, but they don’t really understand.

I recognized my faith, which is not equitable to finding some man.

It is through faith God cast away my demons and gave me peace.

I learned to trust in God’s love so I could let go and know release.

I know God was always there when I was a stubborn child at play.

God met me every morning and was with me throughout the day.

God allowed me to survive suffering, hurt, and even death.

He answered my pleas even when I didn’t deserve to make a request.

The faithfulness of God is not found in just moments of pain

God is there in good and bad times, and his love remains the same.
