Colorless

Colorless

A Poem by ElizabethRaine
"

Everything is washed out.

"
Help me.

I think I'm alone.
The darkness has swallowed me whole.
I can no longer hear cries that mirror my own.

I fear I'll fade into the shadows that I am submerged into.

My mind has lost the ability to remember.
I had an image I held so dear; it has faded too.
I know there were soft whispers and words meant to make me whole.
Those too have gone, leaving me with nothing but a feeling of despair.

I used to be so vibrant; I'm colorless here.

I haven't been doing the 'Poetry' thing long and I don't do the rhyming kind, I just write how I feel about things and how characters I've created feel about things. This is what comes of it.

I dont do the rhyming thing either. I am a fan of free verse! I really liked this. You conveyed the emotions of the piece perfectly. And i feel that using free verse makes it easier to feel the emotions. Anyway Great Job

I love this poem. I really like how the person in the poem relates herself to being colorless. Also, I feel that the poem's short, simple structure fits here, and you have succeeded in creating this troubled character and introduce the profound meaning of having a 'colorless' personality in less than 6 short stanzas. Your beautiful imagery really contributes to the idea!

I truly adore this. It has so much to offer. The use of words, the visuals; it's all so lovely and easy to relate to. I relate to it so well and I can really feel this poem. "I used to be so vibrant; I'm colorless here." So creative, so simple, so beautiful. Absolutely amazing job.

i say its spot on...''I fear I'll fade into the shadows that I
am submerged into''. Just this part speaks to me in more ways than one. Love it.

Good read, i could definitely feel a sense of defeat and resignation. Must be an interesting character.

I really enjoyed this. Feelings aren't always pretty, or safe, I can identify strongly with this "character".

This was very poetic in style! Your imagery expressed exactly what your words described! Excellent job!

You do the poetry thing really well. I really felt the words to this poem. It's really a dark read, anfd I felt darkness closing in on me.
