the pretty principle

the pretty principle

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the pretty principle

the measure of pulchritude
is essentially the essence
of the mind behind the blue eyes of assonance

a sweet voice spilling vowels in tender surrender
so that the object of affection
can be the voice of the poem

the measure of pulchritude
in essence is essentially
the eyes reading the mind with quiet resonance

i like it ... reading brings me to a subtle acceptance of your words ... repeating essences focuses my thought in the direction your poem wants to take me .. simply a fine intelligent work ... without the feeling of erupting from unconstrained emotion but rising from a deep wellspring .. i like this a lot ... when i looked up pulchritude Mirriam mentions Keats in the second breath ..so there you go sir! nice one!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if is the beauty in the words and mind of the beholden that is the true measure of such. I would agree. Because a physically beautiful person can be ugly on the inside, but the inner beauty of a person can make their physicality shine.

Oh My..........I cannot add anything to this that wasn't said... Between the write itself and the comments. I am left to savor it and take a step farther.....
I feel a challenged to take it another step.

I guess it is important to see through a mere facade
not everyone that was gifted a pretty face
holds a pretty soul

the essence of beauty is the essential being within
so words never just stop at the ears
but reach some soul within

if it exists

i love this write

I agree this is a classical work, your mastery of words is clearly stated also your keen sense of the metaphysical process of interactions and perception is wonderfully displayed in the cyclical ending, astounding piece J well done indeed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the symmetry of this piece. The connection of mind(s) come full circle. It gives the eyes of the reader quiet, peaceful appreciation of the affection in your pen.
You have done well Grasshopper. ..

I really like it, I do.

But can't help to think of your projection of wealth.
... is it the mind- or the heart- or the soul.

I don't think I'd change it though...
