love lies, waiting

love lies, waiting

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

love lies, waiting

the rose seems simple

more than adequate beauty---

yet thorns lurk beneath

True, rose has thorn but though it is touched by a soft palm and may be smell ,beauty or purity of its make us force to do.An infinite wait sometime seems to be held than to have a sure negative sign.
It is beautiful .Your writing has an amazing power to flaunt the thought.
Thanks for sharing .

Ah! Sir, beautifully composed and well written. Comparing love to a rose, which appears very beautiful, however, rests on prickly thorns. You have described what love is in just three lines with an excellent comparison. The path of love- appears simple, but isn't so by any means.

A lot going on in this short little poem. Be warned it's going to hurt. Love isn't easy, it takes work and no one comes away without getting stabbed by the sharp thorns.

so true, so true, James.

thank you,

The thorns are part of its beauty? Or are they hiding behind it? Or perhaps, to appreciate beautify, one must learn to accept the thorns as a part of it?
I really liked it, it's short but it says a lot.
Keep on writing!

Thank you for sharing this poem. :)
They say (the infamous "they") that there is nothing worth loving that does not also merit some form of pain or struggle. I wonder whether the rose would lose its beauty if it also lost its thorns...
