the hearing

the hearing

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the hearing

when you told me you loved me

i had no idea your source

was "fake news"

that i was yesterday’s headlines

my heart wire tapped

our emotional wires

crossed,

creating singed sentiment

but no electricity.

Good old "fake news," which is neither good nor news; it was once simply called "lying."
You appear to be up against a hard-of-hearing hearing.
Those heart taps often cause leaks that can destroy relationships--or, at the very least, intensify differences.
Difficult to govern yourself under such conditions.
A most creative piece of work, Jacob!

thank you, Kathie..

So cleverly put: witty, succinct and memorable. Your cup of words runneth over, time and time again.

Quickly read below.. needless to say, don't know what prompted you to write the above.. not that it's essential.. it stands alone without cues.

always a pleasure and more to read your thoughts.. so far, anyway!
has someone put a "tapp" on your heart Jacob... creating both fake news and fake twitters, wait I guess the twitters are real its the person doing the twitting that is fake... okay back to the poem... that is a great metaphor, "crossed wires" but no spark, no electricity and yet someone will still get burnt.... so it is painful fake news on top of everything else...
