trigger happy

trigger happy

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

trigger happy

the arsenal is fired

all the words sullenly sprayed

you were hit,

hurt

bled out

and years later

i am still living with the guilt

of murdering your heart

my grave is an empty doorway

a blue sky with a patch of red

only i see with distorted emotion

and the barrel still smoking

with regret.

The hardest part is not to get forgiveness from someone, but to forgive Your ownself so You can move on, if You are unable to do it as the time passes by, You will never get on Your feet in the right, strong way, even it might gets worse dwelling You in the darkness of low self esteem and regret, and at some point, all will fall hardly, harshly over the whole You, just as You poem have strongly described.

thank you for your kind review, Light.

Profound guilt and monumental regret.
Poets are sometimes far too quick to weaponize their words--often against those who should never have been targets.
We fire in haste; frequently, yearning for repentance from that moment forward.
Stunning bit of work!
