the only imperatives that matter

the only imperatives that matter

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the only imperatives that matter

thankfully i can read lips

you kissed me into understanding

your arms wrapped me with assurance

and silently

i fell

for your dialogue

a bit unsteady

but arranged in perfect order

of address.

Sometimes gestures communicate better than words, especially if they are prolonged kisses and encompassing hugs. No words are needed for this dialogue; all is understood.
