and the illusion

and the illusion

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

and the illusion

Partake the meal

sink your teeth into the relevance

ride it a while

let the stand be penultimate

undo the done

let's restart the truth

it can be an engine that roars

or a muffled idling

diagnostics

driven pacifists

peaceful demonstrations

of a will to love

the two parties

have delved into crashing

there are imbalances

to be leveled

even if the sides are uneven

and totally uncomfortable

standing face to face.

Relationships have so much conflict and imbalance and yet have so much going too. Truth can be restarted with a muffle or a roar and imbalance can be leveled. If the two sides are willing to work at it. Your words feel very reassuring.

I am glad they could make you feel that way....
thank you, DIVYA,
j.
I couldn’t quite help think of Two tribes go to war on this one. I think these days politically it’s chalk and cheese, no real winners and today the sexes are more divided than ever maybe it’s the way they meet these days - online dating. marriage that lasts doesn’t seem like a goal these days. Yes face to face, throw in covid and what do you say?

much of what you have said here...makes so much sense. Wondering what kind of cheese?
Well I took this one with a couple of meanings, you can do that with your writing which is a gift, political or relationship, this morning I choose relationship, this afternoon it will be political either way this is great writing, Geeze you are on a roll!

It would be a plus for
all if we could find a balance
and restart the truth..i 'm
thinking this leans more political
as I read this , i do like thought
of peaceful demonstration for
love ..we'd be better together
than a nation divided..

good piece

we would be, but I am feeling that the divide is just too damn strong.
Thank you, Fran.

I like the idea of "restarting the truth". Sometimes it is difficult to abandon ideas that we've already embedded in our minds. Time should be taken to examine the truth of the situation and then calmly f"face to face" work toward the real truth, reality. Jacob - a very interesting write.
Take care - Dave

I really like your take on this poem, Dave...thank you for your review,

Relationships eh J? I see a couple hear who have not got on for some time. One of them seems to have got the upper hand in the discord, Seems like fighting a losing battle, yet it's not over.

Not sure I've got this right.

many avoid the truth by stubbornness....
thank you, Lisa,
j.
I take this two ways J
One could be about the political divide in this country, and how it’s taken it’s toll on Democracy
The other could be about two people sho don’t see eye to eye and are having a disagreement, but the peaceful demonstrations take me back to the rightist movement and all the destruction to our country…and mor to come.
Best, B.
