in October, one yearA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
in October, one year
an errant pose Pendleton jacket swarming leaves swirl around without touching that heart trying to warm to her surroundings
the smile is patchwork like her quilts soft but stern colors to slip under on the coldest eves
eavesdropping on conversations hearing them from the other room some muffled regard like feelings trying to burst through a seam
I remember her dignified stance eyes of love filled with distance damn, I wanted to hug her
for real.
