Oceans of Grey Spiders

Oceans of Grey Spiders

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Oceans of Grey Spiders

the draining
raining
skies of epiphany
flood the marrow
drowning morrows
in their wake
heirlooms
of gossamer
reflections
occur
infer
drought to come.

Eek. Spiders are so sneakily scary...silent and creepy. The idea that the rain is invading like an ocean of gray spiders is quite mortifying. Ah, well, it is close to Halloween so the time of year for frights is upon us. Let's just try to ride out the flood.

I appreciate your words,

An appropriate offering for these days of Tropical Storm Ophelia (Been raining here all day.). The imagery here reflects grey skies, too. I get the feeling that past memories are bringing predictions of grim tomorrows. Of course, negative feelings don't have to be accepted.

Those skies of epiphany have certainly cast some gloom here dear J. Ater the flood comes drought. Where love is concerned those reflections are sending out warnings. Spiders often make me shiver. Wonderfully expressed. Once bitten …

Another great poem from you, you always paint a beautiful picture! The rain, then the drought It made me think about abundance and then poverty (of my soul), sad to think one follows the other.

Indeed, indeed, once bitten twice shy, and when three, four and more, no surprise one is wary to renew love and commit, some wounds take a long time to heal, those pesky grey spiders sure do their upmost to keep us from healing completely ...

Intriguing, impressive, imaginative metaphor Jacob, I really felt this one my friend as with all of your alluring thoughts when penned on paper 🍀
