shedding replicas of old lovers

shedding replicas of old lovers

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

shedding replicas of old lovers

folds of empty skin

Blue feelings

the largest organ is not the heart

but the heart breaks the hardest

the puncture bleeds the longest

and the skin is tattooed permanently

with drained color

blue to gray to black

the screen goes blank

the film is over

dry eyes leave the theater

all the tears expended

and the artist

leaves lines like poetry

all over the body

to be read

at the heart's end.

Yes Jacob. We can find dead ends.
"blue to gray to black
the screen goes blank
the film is over"

this reminds me of some time ago. leave lines like poetry all over the body. could this possibly mean veins or something bigger, something more familiar, like memories painted on bodies. the deepest tattoos are the ones people put on your heart.

Yes, those are the deepest...
thank you, mabel.

when you are aching from pain, it is in the heart that one feels it the most....we use the word heart-breaking and it's a good metaphor for what we honestly feel.... when we lose someone we love the heart bleeds it is so hurtful...it's like one dies and came back to life, grieving, of course
very descriptive J

The loss of love is a powerful thing that leaves imprints on our hearts. We learn and grow from the loss of love. We weep and have sorrowful hearts that shatter and we glue them back together but they are never quite the same as before.

Nothing like the scars of love to remind you what life is about. Well done. ~Jim

The film is over; let us exit the theater with sad aftermath of the plot. The scene is leaving emotional scars. The screen is blank and lifeless.
Wow!
