dressed-up with make-up party favor poetry
is politics without
the grime just
rhyme and
a dime or two thrown
into the cup by
the stage where
the bard will
rage against
the machine being
not too keen on
the likenesses of
the characters in
between the lines where
syllables breed statutes
that count crookedly when
the pentameter is
bent with misappropriation for
the impromptu verbs of consequence and
nouns sit out in the cold without
an adjective to cloak them but
an angry poet to choke them of
all sentiment not
even one adverb or preposition to
vote no against
ending the poem with
a couplet only
the upper-case nouns might
understand.
