chapter 1

chapter 1

A Chapter by levi marken

I woke up startled, looked around and whispered to myself

"thank god it was just a dream."

Yet, it had felt so real. I looked over at my phone; it was 7:40 am. School started at 8:00 am. I yelled

"hey guys it’s time to wake up! We are going to be late for school!"

I live at a private school for kids that don’t do well in normal schools. I live in a dorm room with two other kids, Tyler and Steven. We got ready and were a little late for class, but our teachers understood because most of the kids were late because there was a storm last night that knocked out the power for the campus and all the clocks time where off.

For class, they found it best if we would have small classes and have the teachers just switch rooms so the kids didn't have time to get in trouble in between classes. I liked it because I knew that I would have gotten in trouble if I was aloud out between classes. The classes in the school were made to be fun and keep the kids paying attention.

When class finally ended, we got to leave the school if we wanted to. Normally, I would just go to my room. This time when I walked into the room, it didn't feel right. It was completely spotless. When you live in a room with two other guys you learn that well guys aren't the cleanest people. The room didn't look like it had been lived since the beginning of the year. I looked back at the outside of the door, and our names were gone off the door. It was like we never existed. When I turned back around, I saw all of my clothes and stuff packed up with a note on the top that said:

Time to run.

I looked around and there was no one there. Then I laughed, hey who’s pulling this prank on me? Tyler is it you? Where are you hiding? It felt like there was someone behind me. So I turned to look behind me, there was another note on the wall it said:

You better hurry

You’re almost

 out of Time

I picked it up looked around. I decided that the best idea would be to listen to them so; I grabbed my bag and ran out the door. On the wall outside my door was another note. It said:

Good now

GET OUT

So I ran down the hall to the door to the parking lot and opened it, ran to my truck opened the back door, and threw my stuff in the back. Just as I looked back, the dorm burst into flames. I looked in my truck and I saw another note. I thought to myself, what it is now!? I opened the door and picked up the note off the dash, it read:

Good you made it out alive

I got in my truck, looked around, and exclaimed to myself, what now!? My dorm just blew up. What am I supposed to do? I know you can hear me. Tell me what to do?! Right then a piece of paper blew into my windshield. I got out of my truck picked it up and it said:

Remember your “dreams”

They weren't dreams

They really happened

Welcome to Hell

Good luck

Really interesting story. It kept me captivated. I wish I knew what his dream was.

There were a few typos and you are missing a lot of punctuation (especially periods) and capitalization.

e.g. "I would have gotten in trouble if I was aloud out between classes." It should be ALLOWED, not ALOUD.

And "When you live in a room with two other guys you learn that well guys aren't the cleanest people." You need a comma before and after WELL. Or just omit the WELL because it's kind of colloquial.

And "The room didn't look like it had been lived since the beginning of the year." It should be LIVED IN instead of LIVED.

I know it's nitpicky but you should be consistent with your capitalization for your chapter titles and your novel title. It just looks a lot more professional and neat.

You have a great story though. I may read more chapters.
