Words

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

These words conveyed my feelings re a past relationship

"

The older I become,

more do I see,

words sounding so beautiful,

can be said so easily,

while in actions,

I watch

and the truth

unfolds to me.

Words,

such idle things,

but,

when we differ in our thoughts,

your words,

how they hurt my heart.

Loving words

turn to dust,

when words become

so mean,

as when distrust

comes between us,

my heart, bruised,

if could be seen.

I'm sick of love words,

so lightly spoken

and spoken,

are but air.

I'd rather feel

your trust

in me, unbroken,

than hear words,

so fair.

I told anyone who would listen. Real love is learn with time and life together. Beginning love is just a stage for wild emotion. If we are lucky love can get stronger and find good reason to keep holding on. A powerful poem. I like your thoughts and logic. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
