Love and hate you simultaneously

When you woo those half-witted girls on the streets with your smart looks,

             I hate you. 

Yet, when you hold my hand firmly in front of them like I am your one and only,

             I love you. 

When you reach there late while I keep on waiting,

             I hate you

Yet, when you ask for forgiveness with a bribe of a bunch of my favourite lavender flowers and put a smile on my vexed face,

             I love you. 

When you act as a pervert watching some videos,

            I hate you

Yet, when you picturise our love in your vision and fantasise,

            I love you.

When you do not call me back when it's urgent,

            I hate you. 

Yet, when you directly ring my doorball thrice like a moron,continuously,

            I love you. 

When you fight with me without any reason,

            I hate you. 

Yet, when you upload a pic of our togetherness on facebook during such crucial times,

            I love you. 

When you keep on refusing the fact that you are unique and one of a kind,

            I hate you

Yet, when you pose with a trophy and smile like an idiot in front of that camera,

            I love you. 

When you wake me up in the middle of the night and press me to keep talking,

            I hate you

Yet, while talking when you drift off to sleep,

            I love you. 

When you speak ill about my teddies and stuffed toys, 

Bantering me about how kiddish I am,

            I hate you

Yet, when you gift me one on our anniversary with a note of love you,

            I love you. 

When you praise models in bikinis and acknowledge their profession,

            I hate you

Yet, when you want to protect me in my shortest dress from every stare in this world,

            I love you. 

When my mom scolds me and you lecture me about how wrong I am,

            I hate you

Yet, when you support my mom and count her as your own mother and give her the same veneration as your mother,

              I love you. 

When you go on a business trip for weeks,

           I hate you

Yet, when you whisper,"I'll be back soon" tenderly in my ears,

            I love you. 

When you work till late in your laptop and delay coming to bed and making love,

            I hate you

Yet, when you say you are working to give our children a better future,

            I love you.

Its class and its funny but with a sincerity and a familiarity since I am personally aware of such black and white thinking - digital thinking I call it (although if they did, I hate them and if they didnt I love them).
Its a curse to have no greys on one's relationship spectrum but it can be a learned skill to add it to.

FcB - have you ever read a book (about Borderline Personality Disorder) called 'I hate you, don't leave me' by by Jerold J. Kreisman (Author), Hal Straus (Author)?
Your poem here reminded me of how heartbreaking being in a relationship with a BPD sufferer can be.

Its is romantic and bittersweet - now just another wee nudge in the same direction and you'll make us all swoon and sigh I bet.

Haha so you mean to say that the person I live with is a BPD sufferer? :D
Well , one of my elective subjects, apart from literature as Honours, is psychology for sure where I have definitely heard of the name Hal Straus.The book seems to be gripping and interesting. I would try laying my hands on it for sure.
And romanticisn is definitely not my cup of tea Anto. Even if I love, I will not be able to express it.That is what I am.A hopeless romantic! :D
