Moving around your aesthetic finger,

That cold memento of our engagement,

Rolled past my navel like a weightless boulder. 

Yet, everytime without any fatigue,you enjoyed rolling it back to the top,

Like my favourite Sisyphus.

I read once that Sisyphus task could not have been all dull - he must have had times of either nonchalance or boredom but not always struggle - like when the boulder balanced at the point just before it rolled and when it rolled - those are moments he must have savoured and probably seemed to last for ages since it rolls down - I mean, its not like he had to control its descent.
I think once an engagement ring hits the floor it should either be made into a wedding ring or left on the floor for good.

But if the rock would fall, he would again have to go back no in order to fetch it up by his mainstream task of rolling.How will he find rest in such a narrow gap?:3

As soon as he wasnt behind the rock pushing up - he was FREE - for those seconds - whatever byte-sized portions Eternity is measured in. The rock was always going to roll back anyway. But in not having to control the descent of a rock that had been ordered by Zeus to roll back no matter what (the rock had its role lol) - In those moments his mind could be anywhere. Free.

His task was to roll it back 'whenever' it rolled down - not to prevent it from rolling down - I think he would have got into a routine of utilizing the times in between to be free from the task. A lesson in the lesson for us to stop worrying about things we cant control - make the best of the times between one task in life and the next.

Greek mythology is a great breading ground for poetry FCB. Another short piece that belies its intent. It reads like disaffection in an engagement with the protagonist feeling used and manipulated but always succumbing to her entreats? It is crisply put together and expressive.
