TIME REALLY FLIES

TIME REALLY FLIES

A Poem by forrestcook

Reflections of life

"

As sand slips thru our fingers
as the rain fall from the skies,
a moment passes quickly,
for it’s true, time really flies.

A child is born at morning light
and we watch her as she grows,
it seems it was just yesterday
she first discovered her toes.

Was it really that long ago
she first walked ‘cross the floor?
Look at her run down the stairs,
and go flying out the door.

Senior prom, graduation day,
it all came and went so fast.
We wished we could slow time
and make every moment last.

We now look back and wonder
if we cherished each new day
we have children who have children
and there’s one more on the way.

Our lives have come full circle,
but we always will remember,
what joys were ours in springtime
as we look at our December.

As sand slips thru our fingers
as the rain fall from the skies,
a moment passes quickly,
for it’s true, time really flies.

Oh Forrest this (as always) is so awesome and funny but the very subject I was sitting here thinking about tonight... It just has not been 40 years ago that I held my babies .... Yet my great grandson is a reality and proof that the circle does go on... This was wonderful... Loved it.
