SIPPING INSPIRATION

SIPPING INSPIRATION

A Poem by forrestcook
"

Thanksgiving blessings

"

The children were playing,
as children will do.
The turkey was baking,
the smell filled the room.

The family had gathered
to share this great day;
everyone talking,
with so much to say.

Baking fresh apple pies,
with that flakiest of crusts,
and homemade ice cream
(that was always a MUST).

Like a Rockwell creation,
the scene was sublime.
Such love filled the room
at that moment in time.

As she sat in the corner,
her tea cup in hand,
she sipped inspiration
as her eyes took it in.

Making her memories,
with the sights and sounds
of the family she loved
as they all gathered round.

Then bowing their heads,
to give thanks for the day,
they sipped inspiration
as the lady did pray.

'Thank you Dear Father
for the blessings you've given,
for the joys we've enjoyed,
and this bounty from heaven.'
