But, A Posey

But, A Posey

A Poem by Frieda P

Sometimes a poem is just a poem
a pen is maybe just, a pen
words strung together to impress
sometimes a poem is eternity
or that blue butterfly by request
more often of life, perhaps death
the universe's forgiveness or less
perky pretty ponies play pool
sinfully sad sinister street sloths
it's all stuck in the mind's soul
a pearl of wisdom, a grand idea
it's the walk of shame or exhilaration
reminisce past, present, future lovers
a broken ragdoll, make her breathe
take the rainbow over the moon
plunge the soul into despairs of Hades
eat, drink, be merry and multiply
cherish the memories of bygones
exalt the superpowers of love and Gods
inhale the beauty of nature's call
exhale the mysteries that taint
kisses a thousand miles deep sink ships
tears overflow into a parallel dimension
dance on a cliff with sheer abandon
saunter gingerly into the next pub
handle babies with kid gloves
sing a gentle pink pearly lullaby
aptly scream the injustices of lies
makes no sense or make it work
go big, go home, die a million deaths
it's soft voices, big sticks and guns
tread lightly, go full throttle ahead
pick a posie fill it with joie de vivre
flecks of silver and gold threads composed
in the end it's all identical altered thoughts
coming together in one grand finale
...the celebration of one's life poetry

This poem is like flipping through an old photo album..... when they weren't digital!! lol About half of your poem stunned me in short little staccato jabs. I stopped by my mom's house, just a half hour ago, and she gave me pictures of me when I was young. Knowing everything I saw, felt, and did when I was little made it tough at first to see the pictures. I don't remember "me", but I remember the anger, the darkness that was all-to-consuming, and the feeling I was always being watched due to the night terrors!! Your poem has a unique way of reminding me of how surrealistic my youth was in my head, and how others may have viewed me. The last line sums up what we all have in common.... the present. Everything else is a memory. I'm glad you wrote this and was able to, first: see your page, and second: enjoy more of you... after writing you last, this morning before work!! xoxo -Mark

Thanks muchly Tarry :-)
What an absolutely astounding description of your final line here. This is as complete a descripyion of the effect life has on your writing, or is that vice versa? I just hope you keep going full throttle Frieda. Love this
