Recessed Head Space

Recessed Head Space

A Poem by Frieda P

some things need to be buried,
at least in the recesses of the mind,
never to see the chilled day's dawning
 alas, for some reason
the malcontent brain spits them up
and vehemently slams it out,
against that macabre wall of shameful glimpses
breath ceases to exist for decades beyond
can't see clearly the dreams for the reality
hurling truths take a dizzy spin
seething unrelenting savagry of mutations
seeping from the eyes through grey haze
weighing heavily on time and space
ambiguous price of penance paid
 for someone else's sinful aberrations

So dreadfully true that the wrongdoing of others have eternal effects, more so than the good deeds most times. These thoughts need to be pacified, but the human (worse if intellectual) mind will rebirth these supposedly dead thoughts.

Intense. Honest. Frieda.

Tight write, my friend.

I use a mental sieve .. has taken alot of attempt to finally learn to use it..letting the good memories lie without being to sullied by the ugly..

True enough, the subconscious buries any event that causes trauma to a person or anything that shouldn't trigger any bad happenings on that person. This is a very expressive piece that talks about the most interesting organ in man: the brain. I really like this piece as having that psychological thing inserted within the lines and enunciating humanity's defense mechanism.

It's hard to move on, but sometimes moving on is vital. I know that feeling. You describe so nicely!

I like the first line, so true. Some things are not meant to be ressurrected. Leave certain things buried, why bring them up to cause pain to old wounds. Your vocab is insane!! Strong words.

Caustic. Toxic. Noxious. A festering sore. Projectile vomit that s**t right out of your belly, baby. Well done.

Grazie Insanity.
Life is so sad that others should pay for another's cruelty.

A quiet feel to this very real thought and write.
Those thoughts seem like they never go away. They just keep piling up on themselves until they finally tip over.
Well written, Frieda.

Hmm they tipped over big time, thus this one appeared, thanks so much Michael.
We wish the bad away, usually only fooling ourselves by burying it deep. Then it can be the tiniest and most innocent trigger that brings that man eating zombie up from the soil. At that point we can only hope it is a slow mover that we can quickly rein in. Otherwise, those fast ones are going to wreak a little mayhem before we get that pump action going on the old shotgun and land three good slugs.

A wonderful job with this, Frieda.

'man eating zombies' yes indeed! If only the shotgun would help...thanks so much Rogue.
