Pomegranate Wine

Pomegranate Wine

A Poem by Frieda P

The scent of morning dew
  hugging embrace of dawn
coffee's wafting aroma
 sunset's sumptuous  purple hue
gentle zephyr's kiss of butterfly wings
moonlit dances winking at the sun
ocean breezes that toss my locks
         wildflowers scenting my hair
  imploding stars upon the night
sweet taste of pomegranate wine,
remind me how you bliss my soul

Pomegranate Wine? Yuck!! lol Beautiful poem, but someone would have to actually SPIKE the wine with a different liquor to make it not taste of a medicinal tone. I sooooo "respectfully" want to peel away at your poem, here, but right off the bat... I wished to see that it has some space above and blow the poem so as to center it and give it a proper stage to perform on. : ) The color is perfect... and appropriate!! Your rhymes have also gotten a little tighter in the respect that they are of a more soothing nature in the beat and how each word that you have chosen to represent the scents and scene of color and that unusual palette of such an acquired taste, is undoubtedly delicious in its own sense. : ) Aphrodite would summon a kiss for you if you were top pose a cheek for her fruitful kiss after a reading of this beautiful poem. I Love it. Pomegranate.... yuck. Poem.... beautiful!! xoxo -Mark

Thanks Sera, it's really yummy.
Metaphorasizing an addiction as a lover, in this case alcohol, has always been intriguing to me; seeing how the addiction overwhelms you to the point where you regard it as a person. Well done.

Sounds good to me, do you have Pomegranate wine at your place?
I loved the title, had me really intrigued. I absolutely love Pomegranates but now I want some of this wine, ha. I loved the color of the font, very suiting to the write.

This was really perfection in one short write, I loved how you wrote it, made it short but yet- it makes an impact. Well done, another one bites the dust :P

Bahaha, shush! ;-)
The opening two lines reminded me of how a morning felt when I was a kid, and still a relatively happy one...every morning walk into the kitchen was the start of a new adventure...then I got to the coffee and starting thinking about how that has become the highlight of most of my days since high school ;P

Another little thing: in the past you've been ambivalent about me pointing out "signatures" of your writing, but I now consider the zephyr to be one of your most diverse images ;)

Haha amen to that...looking forward to the zephyr dance ;)
Just the name had me going "Oooooh! I have to read this!"
Was not disappointed!
I love the color of the font by the way. Makes me taste something sweet in my mouth.
For some reason this is the second poem I've read in the past 5 minutes that includes the words "butterfly wings"...
Again I'll mention your descriptive words. You just really know what you're doing!
