~Poetry's Whimsy~

~Poetry's Whimsy~

A Poem by Frieda P

I thought I had dreamt you
you appeared out of  filtering light

as though you could read my mind
you asked me to dance

violins were playing a vibrant tango
you glided me across the floor
as if two entangled butterflies
floating on air

caught my breath in a whisper
no words could escape
we spoke with our eyes
melting into each other's hearts

I felt a zephyr blow my hair
realized you had placed wildflowers there

I found you in poetry's machinations,
   endearingly perpetuating my capricious whimsy

This poem is like flowing on the air , dancing in the meadows , soaring above the clouds. You perpetuate the dance of life within all the distractions and noises...:)

Love this stanza! The entire poem reads to me like quiet anticipation, a fierce under current running between lovers as the visible appearance is light and giddy. A wonderful poem, Frieda!

Beautiful, muses are wonderful, the natural rhythmn of your words levitate and release the beauty of poetry.

this feels like a dance with the muse...like two butterflies floating together we become one with the words...we cannot force them, but when they fly to us...there is a union...and we are one with our second nature(poetry)----

We all love flutterbys it seems, must be a poetry thing, thanks Rose :-)
Sigh...you paint a lovely picture here. The words float light and dreamy through my mind...for some reason reminding me of the scent of honeysuckle on a summer night. There's innocence here...whimsical happiness. It made me smile...xo
