~Fools Rush In

~Fools Rush In

A Poem by Frieda P

Fools Rush In...

You rushed in like the fool tide
changed the entire heart scape,
then completely ebbed away...

welcome...why do my obscure reviews get the features?

Isn't it just like love to come in like the tide, exciting and powerful, fill the moats of our sandcastles and then draw the entire thing back into the sea, leaving nothing but stark sand? *sigh* I felt this one...great imagery.

Best compliment Friday, when a poet 'feels' it, thanks so much my friend....
Wise men say - read Frieda's poems. Blown away by "changed the entire heart scape..."

I forgot...:)...........
I enjoyed how you used the wave metaphor to show a broken relationship. It inspired me to write my own version of this as a gift poem that you may keep as your own since I used most of your very creative first line: This is also in /0/0/0/ syllable meter:

Wave

You rushed in as a fool’s tide
taking my heart for a ride.
Ebbing you pushed me aside.

Thanks Aethereal, muchly appreciated.
There's something so romantic about the ocean...
You have captured so much emotion in this great little poem.

Thanks Julie, glad you enjoyed :-)
You kissed my cheek like water, and I was entirely changed; what a wondrously enticing thought to ponder on...how love changes all and could make us caring or sweet or even bitter.

Always love to read your reviews Tai, thanks so much.
love its haikuness; sharp simple statements with universal experience analogies well woven..the pic is perfect! Playing the fool in love helps us inch closer to something more real and substantial. Have to say I do not regret plunging over the cliff of love to the rocks below...have even strapped on a rocket and lit the fuse .... it hurts...but what a ride!!! :)) love this poem of yours

Ha, laughing here, thanks for the chuckle and good attitude E!! Still smiling.... ;-)
this started me singing the next line....where Angels feel to tread...( from the fifties, Lesley Gore ? ), probably at first Will Shakespeare..a nice write that put me in a good mood..

Great to hear Leslie, I think it was Elvis...thanks so much.
You've brilliantly linked the romanticism of the ocean and love into three lines of pure emotion.
