half past insanity...

half past insanity...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

...just a bit of satire, perhaps. ;-)

"
Half past insanity and quarter to absurd
no velvet petal's verses to behold
babbling brooks chanting in rhyme
'perhaps it's time to hang up the wind-chimes'
snow falling upward to a new moon phase
weeds scattered conjugating germination
wanderings in my mind won't be set free
bloody ink purged brash senseless jazz
breathing in the illogicality of farces's hold
took a walk on the wild side of folly
madness doesn't seem all that bad
when the teardrops in your coffee
are singing the blues to a cuppa tea
perhaps a contemplative walk in the park
will spark the beauteous pen to unleash
something half past lunacy's bat s**t crazy
lost the plot somewhere 'tween here and there
for now the idiocy looms on the horizon
screaming be content with what you see
tomorrow's derangement could be worse indeed

This poem reminds me of when I seem to be lost as to where my own story is going and I just start writing all kinds of nonsense. When I stop and read what I have wrote I truly believe my mind has left my body and I am left with pieces no sane person believes herself to have. Strangely it helps unlock my mind. Love this piece and will put it the library so I can jump to it when I feel this way. No one likes to be alone in insanity.

Laughing here, so true...we're all a little bit daft as poets I think, thanks Amanda.

this is very Kerouac, like reminds me of his latter verse..I love the tongue twisters and the rattle stream of conciseness depicting this clocked insanity, bats definitely are screeching in the belfry...Gothic artsy-texture...great piece

This is humorous. The music fits well with your verse.
Sometimes things going absurd but you can't resist them to happen....because sometimes being quirky is somewhat exciting. LOL

Nice tripping here!

You may think me insincere or trite or whatever... but, I really like this Frieda. Maybe it's reading it while listening to that Stones tune or something... I don't know - but whatever it is it works well; both apart and together. Every line could stand on it's own. Hey, maybe that's what I'm seeing.. every line somewhere in a dim underground bunker where the music reverberates off the sloping arches, designed to absorb the explosions from above... and there are your lines each dancing to their own incarnation but somehow a coherent chaos of epic lip-licking, tongue thrusting, eyes closed, mind open... vibrations.

100 dancing lines
