Crush'd

Crush'd

A Poem by Frieda P

Crippled teardrops ache

relief drips crimson pools

fragile heartfelt moments

buried deep within damage

misery rages in aged flames

afraid to breathe in fire,

scars affect hourglass time

dying in the anesthesia

cuts deep to the bone

annihilating freedom's tomb

killer instincts in sorted rush

bitter taste upon the soul

cold truths' pithless shivers

strangers bared in rhyme

blood cours'd through cursed veins

crushed 'tween hung tooth'd denial

I enjoyed this play of words because it speaks of the way unfortunate memories seem to alter our perceptions in life while hardly bringing up an example. Just an outright expression for the way it grows within us, and how the emotions amplify with time. Your reference to strangers in the end intrigues me, though. Is it so that the strangers are actual strangers who indulge each other's memory, or is it that they are two strangers on opposite sides of the spectrum crooning the same tune? Nonetheless, well done, friend. Keep it up

Some souls are crushed between denials and reality, some run into bitter conclusions and lose all trust, some age in the flames of uncertainty...A powerful and emotive write...:)............

You are welcome muchly...:).....................
Some of us have to pull from imagination to write the hollow emptiness and pain expressed in your poem. And while you have great imagination Frieda, it is wrapped around the reality of your life's pain and passions.. I don't envy your loss, its consequences, but I do envy your imagination and your creative art.... "crippled tear drops ache / relief drips crimson pools".. such descriptive power you have.. it's truly wonderful Frieda.. only wish your pain didn't drive you so and didn't also break my heart.. ~~redzone

No apologies Frieda
From the depths and crevices of aching this one must come...but even the most upbeat of us have been flung in the endless hole of despair at times and you certainly allow one to live in it and I love it. If a write can't lure the emotions out of me regardless as to the subject it's not as much fun to read. Brava.
