~ birds tiredly sang electric blues

~ birds tiredly sang electric blues

A Poem by Frieda P

Generically nonplussed
   halted in your confusion
perplexed by your audacity
   anomaly's just desserts
unmounted within your rush
  undertaking suburbia's free verse
felicitous tidings a bust'd cadence
   reciprocated in morose candor
ascendance of an inequitable motive
   twisted in minutiae transparency
bloody worms danced on freedom's hook
       birds tiredly sang electric blues

off key in a drunken stupor'd F sharp
              fallen over injustices express wire

I don't know why I review your poems, since you seem to know what I'm going to say: this too, was lovely! And probably one of your works that I enjoyed more than others...don't know why. You can feel the chaos, the confusion reading the opening lines and " anomaly's just desserts " is a masterstroke. A great quality of your poetry is the consistent presence of wit, which I enjoy very much. Thank you for sharing this, Frieda :))

Lesson already learnt, dear William. I have an elder sister, and I know she's never wrong. :)

Ha that was my favorite line, thanks so much Streamline.
Every poem you write provides me the opportunity to halt in your confusion Mrs.R...but the only confusion I really experience is in trying to find new ways to express how your every word strikes me to the core...no other poet ignites so many different emotions in me with one poem, and in a lot of cases, just one line or even one word...everything just clicks. I can't remember the exact wording, but Leonard once joked that there is something arrogant about trying to put the universe in order, which is kind of what poets attempt to do. Well, when it comes to your poetry my dear, arrogance is bliss ;) xo

Cohen and powerful poetry. A good place to be. Some birds know real freedom. Can dance on the wires without getting burn. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.
