Casablanca state of mind...‏

Casablanca state of mind...‏

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~when two lover's woo

"

In a Casablanca state of mind,
   want to be kissed
                   like it's the last time
           remember every detail,
the romance in my soul
                fell into a deep slumber
yet as time goes by
I want you, to make me believe
 in love again,
even when a gun is pointed at my heart

Paris in moonlight sounds grander
               than those fine piano keys,

I want to play it again   ~
                    for recollection's old times sake

I could be your Ilsa, you can be my Rick ~

C'mon,

     Bogart me baby...

I love the addition of the music. It seems really romantic, unless you've actually watched Casablanca. I love that it hints at darkness, without flat out stating it:) " I want you, to make me believe in love again, even when a gun is pointed at my heart"

you're welcome...
You've taken my breath away Frieda. This is one of those poems that every line is like that line : "want to be kissed like it's the last time". It is filled with romantic passion mixed with the impossible. "When a gun is pointed at my heart", and i want to say no, but know there is real truth in how everything usually goes. Especially when it comes to love and other consequences of life.

I could live in your poem, with its desires and impossibilities tensions, even "play it again" as if it were the last. So on a Monday morning, with sun peeking thru high clouds, i have breathed my last ... forever.

It was a welcomed pleasure to read your wonderful poem Frieda. Or should i say Ilsa, cause someone out there needs to be Rick but with there no longer a gun to your heart and that last kiss, is forever and always.
And you are Bogart'd, baby.

Maybe i got it all wrong, but I'm still not breathing ... forever. Simply beautiful Frieda

Thanks so much for your kind words Ayushi. :)
This is great, it teases me to believe in the touch, the feel, the anticipation once again, and yes it can be achieved if we allow ourselves a little more abandon .. ahh to feel it all again, just like seeing your first sunrise, or watching the changing colours at dusk .... magic, it is there ... let us all allow it x x

Nice one chick chick - you seem to write with such ease ... love that xx

Merci beaucoup Betty, 'abandon' gotta love that word! xo
The love of those days of flesh and bone can never be matched by bits and bytes of our times.
