Life without an escapism clause ~

Life without an escapism clause ~

A Poem by Frieda P

Poetess interruptus
bitter clarity bit the dust
rust'd flow like the Nile's sin
inky retreat into oblivion
indulged the mourner's chant
grasped last breath's chicanery
in a moment of silent prayer
put to rest a stillborn notion
borne of braille's misconceptions
machination's devices stagnate the plot
song and a dance, one last ruse
in design'd conspiracy theories' ploy
scheming to underwrite cheeky monkey's business
collateral damage gone to hell in a corroborative role
subterfuge's closing arguments authenticated
sentenced to life without parole's escapism clause
dodging the bullet of reception's passive resistance
10x12 cell of self imposed restraint's own sake
captur'd in elusions of tainted open air windows
exhale into a brown paper bag of realism's twixter
breathe to die in last act's curtain call ovation
took one final bow on meaningful repartee's knees

I like your knew avatar...it looks like a painting of you, lovely. It seems we have to find a way to create escapism for ourselves so we won't fall into despair and find escape through drugs, alcohol are worse. Poetry is one of the most healing forms of a brief hiatus from life...we can always return then. Bittersweet and poignant.

Awh thanks Troy, muchly appreciated my friend. :)
This was great Frieda P. At a loss for words as they flow. I can relate to this feeling but somehow they seem to come. Which is evident in this poem. I really enjoyed this today.

Oh Mrs.R, only you can reference cheeky monkeys in one line and hell in the next...really, you're the only one that can do that haha But I don't want to downplay the intensity of this absolutely brilliant piece...the title alone is pure genius...escapism, not escape...that was a savvy bit of punning there, and lets the reader know right away that they're about to enter a wobbly world where metaphors rule, which is good because the literal messages are staggering and overwhelming...'inky retreat into oblivion indulged the mourners chant'...poetess interruptus indeed...and 'braille's misconceptions'...I've always wondered what poetry is like to a blind person, I wonder if it becomes more vivid in braille, with no outside interference you might say...so many different ideas to ponder in this piece, so many metaphors to solve, and so much brilliance from the undisputed Queen of the cafe...this should be in my favourites list, but the site has suffocated me again...damn this site...but it won't be far from my mind, I can assure you that ;_ xo

Mostly lovely compliment, grazie mille Poppy darlin' !!
Frieda, I thought I was the one who always got into 'cheeky monkey's business' Anyway, just wait a bit--it'll come around again on Paul's guitar. No need for that right bookend. After all, you're the gal that just wrote 200 some odd words with writers block as only it's most obvious layer :D Beautiful work beautiful lady!
