Déjà vu due

Déjà vu due

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_an old preponderance revisited_

"
We are given breath, we die
what fills those pages in between
are the complexities of life's illusions
      innuendos of an oblique allusion

Kismet, fate, some divine intervention
or sublime alchemy of heart's desires,
paths we take are sometimes vague
is it all predestined or are we fated
    as humans to determine
            our very own journey's path

Has it been written on cumulative skies,
     upon
the stars long ago,
some crystalline clouds or tissue paper,
should we abjure constellation's foreboding signs
in the echoes of past tribulations

Is déjà vu the very life we've repeated,
   fallen 'neath soul's intrinsic liquid
like hot lava that bubbles and churns
my muse ponders these unanswered queries,
if life is preordained, once conceived,
or do we create our own poetry's

Ah crystalline clouds on tissue paper that is ever so delicate. Holy crap I have that album and I love that song...

Reviews

I have to start by pointing out that I KNEW you were gonna use that song...honest ;)

Your voice carries the wisdom and creative command of a muse...when you speak, people listen, and when you write, people read, and this piece crystallizes all of the reasons for that...for all of the resigned melancholy that I take from this one, I couldn't help but smile upon reaching its conclusion...I think I point this out in every review, but there is no theme or subject that is immune to the power of your imagination...the way you look at things, and the way you express the way you look at them, is humbling to me, and inspiring at the same time...this is going to sound like one of those over-the-top reviews, but seriously, I consider myself most fortunate to have crossed paths with you and your poetry...you change the way I look at things on a daily basis....you are unique...you are Frieda, and Frieda is a poet in the purest sense of the word...and a muse...the echoes of past tribulations ring through your every word, and any reader that comes across them is a different person after being exposed to them...yes, it sounds over-the-top, but I know there are a lot of people in these parts that will back me up on these sentiments...xo

Are we predestined to commit the same mistakes, or are we the author's of our own misery? Good question.
