This trait I hate!
This "Chatty Kathy" fate
I'm so Chatty Kathy today

My dignity, My grace
blows up in my face
whenever I'm talkin' this way

I'm never demure
(I'm not even sure
how I'd even BE that if I could)

So like it or not
I'm talkin' alot
maybe a lot more than I should.

Be careful with me
don't invite me for tea
If you do here's a simple heads up

Make sure you don't brew
"Constant Comment" for two
If you truly want me to 'shut up’.

There's nothing like a good, long chat to empty the mind into someone else's! Women like to talk about pretty paintings, good shoes, shops that sell two for the price of.. especially a good natter and prattle without being dipped into the local pond to find out if a witch! Funny you - NO, not funny but witty and an an Olympic gold for your country, family, pride and more! Inspiring - big :))))

This was funny. I think I have some constant comment in my tea box. Although it's better a "chatty Kathy" than a bird brained, banal, Barbie I would venture. An amusing read, I enjoyed.

it happens to us all sometimes. hard to stop a chatterbox once it gets started. this reminds me of when i was a kid, my mother had a friend she would visit and they sit and chat/gossip and talk over a cup of tea. i quickly learned that whenever they got together for "tea", it was really about a lot more than that ... :)

Funny you should say this. I remember once my mom and her friend were "conversing" over coffee non-stop. Her friend's son came in and interrupted. She said, "Not now, Stephen, you must wait until we're done talking." "Yeah," he said, "but you're NEVER DONE!" :D

The ability to interact and find commonality is not a bad thing. Some are quiet, some not as much. Hopefully if a person is talkative even that can be an area of growth and acceptance. Life is for the living after all. Your poem did bring an inner smile.
PS, It is nice to meet you and find a new writer, (at least to me.)
