Amicable

Amicable

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

Romance clashing with Mathematics, once again.

"
In this age,
they say
true love
doesn't exist.

And with them,
I must agree.

But,
oddities,
outliers,
exceptions,
always crop up,
always exist.

And with love,
these people
stand the
test of time.

They are
amicable,
like a pair
of unrelated
numbers.

On the
surface
at least.

The man is 220,
while the woman
is 284.

They are amicable
because the factors
of 220 add up to 284,
and the factors of 284
add up to 220.

Man is 220 as
the lesser gender,
and Woman is 284
as the fairer sex.

But despite
the disparities,
the calamities,
the tragedies,
they are connected
together forever
by their compatibility,
their forgiving ability,
their emotional agility.

Together,
they have
a combined
compatibility
score of 504.

That looks
worse than
a lousy
credit score
but it means
something deeper,
something more.

True love
may not
be alive,
but
amicability
is something
we can
strive for.

It might
be all we
have left.

Kenneth The Poet
Factors of 284: 1 + 2 + 4 + 71 + 142 = 220

Factors of 220: 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 10 + 11 + 22 + 44 + 55 + 110 = 284

There are only three kinds of people in this world: those who are good at maths, and those who aren't. I'm one of those. This adds a unique dimension to your art, and adds another level of enjoyment to reading your writing. That you were able to combine such disparate elements as numbers and logic with love and subjectivity is tribute to your skill as a poet. Great as always!

Fantastic! Gonna show this to my Wife. She is numbers, and I am names, one of the ways we complete each other.
Super clever and well conceived! Love it.

There is a branch of philosophy called panpsychism which deals with the belief that all things are connect and that everything has a unified center of experience. If your a Tool fan they talked about panpsychism in a few of their songs. Also Carl Jung had a theory of the collective unconsciousness. Whether you believe in it or not we all share the same experiences in life. Maybe not the exact same, but we all share the universal language of love, pain grief, and joy that we all can comprehend regardless of where in the world we were born. Very interesting poem, my good man.
