Killing The Urge

Killing The Urge

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Killing the urge to care
But it doesn't go anywhere

It might be in the DNA
and that never goes away

and neither does the bully
so the child ropes the pulley

and hangs like a side of beef
and only a few feel the grief

But the authorities feel it now
and they have the greatest cow

and they care for a little bit
and the unaware can't give a s**t

But this one knows the truth
as we are the necrotic tooth

so this one murders what's there,
this ironic urge for human care

I,too, choose this poem to read based on the title.

The first two lines are brilliant. very deep and powerful poem. You penned it well. I enjoyed reading it.

The title made me want to read this.
I got mixed messages with this. It's human nature to try to suppress our animal like urges. With OCD, I know all too well the struggles behind this.
I also got the message of a child being pushed so far he can nolonger resist, taking him over the edge. This was a thought-provoking read, well done Kenneth!
