Silent Sorry

Silent Sorry

A Poem by Hanna McGivern

Silent Sorry

Stabs of sorry, hum.

A throbbing angry bruise.

Tear drops.

Bitter metal mouth, blood.

Boots of the angry, steel capped.

The arrogant tick tock

reminder he will be back.

Beating heart.

Beaten heart.

Your fault.

Open wounds sting.

Seeping, soaking.

Open door.

Wind lashing broken bones,

broken glass.

Rageful red.

Submissive.

Black eyes

black boots

blackness.

Weak knees, hard floor.

Now he is gone.

Pregnant silences
