Piece By Broken Piece

A Poem by Heather D
"

about how i met my then boyfriend Dalton. i used him as a band aid to cover up my pain from Matt

"

I never saw it coming, didn't want to try,
Didn't want anyone new, the thought made me cry.
Until I met you, something felt right,
But I was still hesitant, until that night.
I had gone to the store, you met me there.
We talked for a while, I could tell you cared.
Then I had to leave, and you took me in your arms,
And that one hug settled it from then on.
You had me from that moment, though I have a broken heart,
You're fixing my world, since he tore it apart.
I told you all about him, how he hurt me so.
I thought you wouldn't want me, since you knew my woes.
But it didn't matter, you cared despite it,
So I gave in, I didn't fight it.
My feelings for you were new and strong.
Nothing this amazing could possibly be wrong.
You're fixing my heart, piece by broken piece,
I don't quite know how, it's amazing to me.
Now I love you more than I ever would have thought.
We are perfect together, I'm happy with what I've got.
You are my cure, healing me slowly but true,
I don't need him baby, cuz now I've got you.

This is a good example of a rebound relationship.......Good Write

Sometime we must open the door to our heart to allow love to rebirth. I like the story in the poem. Life is taking chances. Take no chances. Have no fun. I like the ending. A outstanding poem.
