Lock and Key

i wrote this for Dalton. i wanted to be in love so bad after Matt, so i just made myself believe i loved him.

Some say that love's a lie, but I know that can't be true.
If love's a lie, then what is this, these feelings I have for you.
We fit together so perfectly, our personalities like lock and key.
So different from each other, but we belong together, you and me.
I didn't really see you when we first met, I was with somebody else.
But you saw me, I was all you saw, you've told me that you fell.
A few months later, I was alone, so hurt and so confused.
You came and picked up the pieces of my heart, you're like my super glue.
I was cautious at first, didn't want to love, but I let you be my friend.
My love for you grew, you were so perfect, you helped my heart to mend.
When you kissed me, butterflies, a feeling that I love.
Our hands fit together like puzzle pieces, you were an angel from above.
In summer time we were always together, swimming and playing sports.
In winter time, sweaters and hats, me in your arms so warm.
Then the day came, one year together, you came in with a little box.
Inside a ring so beautiful, a promise to be key and lock.
A promise to wait, and save ourselves, until our wedding day.
A promise to stay faithful, to love each other true, to fight what came our way.
Long story short, I love yous so, I'm so glad you're my man.
We are perfect together, lock and key, that why your ring is on my hand.

I really like this poem, although I'll have to say that the line "super glue" is a bit cheesy and doesn't really belong, although I'm not sure if that was the point or not. It's very sweet, like you said yourself lol. I also dislike the "swimming" and "playing sports" Even though I doubt there are any others to substitute. You're very talented, of course, and you should always keep writing. I know it makes me happy.
