On This Shore

On This Shore

A Poem by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Here...

"

Watching the sea
 Counting the waves
Am I still sane?

Building castles
Out of the sand
To be washed away

Singing our song
Whispers to th
e wind
Will you hear me, dear?

Sunrise, I have s
een
Now at sunset, I gaze
Waiting for the rain

Wish you give a look
A moment on this shore
While footprints are still here

Reminds me of the piece I wrote " Sand Castle " but this piece makes more sense. There's so much reflection cast into the sea and conundrum a muse may have been punning in her mind but when we go to the beach and sits in the sand staring at the surf or stroll along the great divide while the sea gently touch and caresses our feet. It offers that serene calming effect that consoles us just like a mother cuddle her young in her loving arm. And the gentle breeze that gently whisper in our ear and kisses our checks is like a hugs or an embrace of a friend reminding us that everything will be alright and whatever pain or heartaches we are experiencing that too will one day come to pass. The blue sky, the feel of the sand and seawater under our sole, the brush and strokes of the sea breeze. The marks our footsteps left in the sand. The waves erasing our footprints perhaps is saying to us that we can't hold on to the past an we can't keep looking back but continue to move forward. The sounds of the waves breaking on the shore gives us and overwhelms us with all these different sensations that floods our senses and somehow the surroundings sympathizes with us as we make that connection.

Nice relaxing view of time at the shore. One of my favorite places. Well done.

Thank you, sir. I really love beaches or the sea.
My favorite kind of poetry. The sea, hope and possibilities of happiness. Thank you dear friend for sharing your outstanding poetry,

The poetic voice appears to be longing for that one person to at least look at her and it makes me think do we do things so that others will know that we exist?

Syempre naman :) :) :)
while we still make footprints we hope to get an answer to our question---am i here? am i sane?

this reminds me of emily dickinson's "i felt a funeral in my brain"---"and then a plank in reason broke/ an i feel down and down/ and hit a world at every plunge/ and finished knowing then>"
