Linger...

Linger...

A Poem by heido
"

For a new friend.

"

He is there

Behind that locked door

  Taunting, scratching, pulling

I linger for the smell

 The memories

The conviction

I linger for the nostalgia

  Like formaldehyde

 It keeps alive the lost

Tuning my heart

To play a tune he knows

  It snaps, pulled too tight

   Too high

I'm hung up on the notes

  The crascendo

 The bass

He wills me to dance

My feet move

 It calls back to myself

  Turns to see

The othe self

Lingering..

  Dancing..

     Loving..

This is a great poem to wrap your mind around.
“Tuning my heart
To play a tune he knows.”
Simply amazing.

i am sensing a mythology behind your words, well obscured with emotion. Not bad...viva la

Like the shape of it, experiments with form :)
'I'm hung up on the notes
The crascendo
The bass
He wills me to dance'
I'm a very visual person and this strikes so many images in me, and may thoughts along with it.

A poem with many mysteries. I like them. A writer need to keep the reader guessing. I like the flow of words. Always a pleasure to read your poetry. Your words seem to dance on the page.
