Childhood

Childhood

A Poem by BlueVoice
"

How special childhood is, and when you're a child you don't realise how great childhood is until it's gone.

"
Child,
You dream far beyond the life of reality,
Maybe something that probably won't interest me,
You dream beyond the sky, the restless sea,
You dream of your own land in which you are free

You don't care how you look or appear,
Not self-concious, like most around here.
You say what you think, without any fear;
Your innocence protects you, innocence so dear.

But soon your years of youth will grow,
Along with that will all freedom flow
Out of your life, now maturity you must show,
You'll be along with the rest of us,
You'll have to watch where you go.

So don't grow up fast, future may be your foe.

Well put Blue, when we are children we have no worries and we have so much innocence. As we get older the world robs us of our innocence and we must fall in pace with our society where we are not free to be ourselves. If we do not do as society commands then we are ridiculed.

Kids don't worry about society's woes or rigid factions, yet they grow up way too fast, especially in this day and age. You've written it aptly...well pen'd.

That's so true. You really don't realize how awsome childhood is until you've grown up.
Sometimes I wish I could go back again.
Well done :)
